Treatman Planning I

This course addresses clinical treatment situations, and focuses on the principles supporting treatment planning systems and plan evaluation methodologies. The design and analysis of isodose distributions for basic techniques, using accepted planning principles, are covered. Topics include photon and electron external beams, 2D beam modification, and monitor unit calculation methods for standard and non-standard planning situations. The course is delivered by The Michener Institute of Education at UHN. PREREQ: Successful completion of all Year 2 courses in the Radiation Therapy Program. The course is only available to students enrolled in the joint Michener/Laurentian Radiation Therapy program. (lec 3, lab 3) cr 3.
